The City Spin
The beginning of August is always an exciting time for us. Construction holidays have come to an end, job sites come back to life, and months of planning finally begin to take shape. It's one of our favourite seasons, when ideas move off the page and into the hands of talented trades.
Next Monday, demolition officially begins on one of the projects we've been most excited to share.
This full condo renovation has been thoughtfully designed from floor to ceiling, with every room being completely reimagined. The home will feature bespoke millwork, luxurious natural materials, and carefully selected statement pieces that will define the finished space.
One feature we're especially looking forward to seeing installed is a custom concrete freestanding bathtub by Balux. Throughout the home, marble will play a leading role, but we especially cannot wait for the slab selected for the principal bathroom. A unique, breathtaking stone with dramatic mauve and purple veining. It's one of those selections that stopped us in our tracks, and we can't wait to see it come to life.
Projects like this also come with unique logistical challenges. Many of the stone slabs and other heavyweight materials are simply too large to bring through the building, requiring sections to be craned up and carefully maneuvered into place. It's one of the many behind-the-scenes details that most people never see, but one that requires extensive planning and close coordination between our design team, suppliers, and construction partners. Our team will be on site throughout the process, working alongside the contractor to ensure every detail is executed exactly as intended.
Perhaps one of our favourite details about this project has nothing to do with the materials at all.
This is an all-women team.
From our client, to our design team, to the construction project manager, every key player bringing this renovation to life is a woman. While that wasn't intentional, it's something we're incredibly proud of and excited to experience together. Watching a group of talented women collaborate, problem-solve, and create something extraordinary feels especially meaningful.
This is only the beginning, and over the coming months we'll be sharing the progress, the challenges, and all of the beautiful details that transform this condo into a truly exceptional home.
We can't wait to take you along for the journey.
