Founded in 1986, Avenue Design has, over the years, evolved from a fabric importer to a full service furniture design store. Well known in Montreal for its unique style that I like to call transitional/eclectic, you may recognize them from their lavish showroom located in Ville St Laurent, or from one of their many ads in local design magazines. I started working at Avenue about a week ago, and I cannot stress enough how happy I am with the work environment, the services provided by this company and the extensive selection of beautiful pieces, all of excellent quality.Prior to working there, I rarely shopped at Avenue because I always assumed it was for a less “budget conscious” client, which you don’t come by very often these days. After this week, I’ve come to realize that they carry excellent products that fall into various different price points. All of their upholstery is made to order and the fabric is customizable on the majority of their furniture. Some of their lines can even be completely modified, from the fabric and nail heads, right down to the size. Best of all, every salesperson working from the showroom is a talented interior designer. They are not there to sell you that one piece that you ask for, but more to make sure that the room you are working on looks fantastic from head to toe. If it is that one piece that you are missing, they will ask the necessary questions to ensure that it is the right size, shape and color for your space. Free in home consultations are offered to facilitate this process, which saves you time shopping around and avoids mistakes. From furniture, to rugs, to accessories, to custom drapery and bedding, Avenue is a one stop shop for all of your decorating needs. The results are stunning interiors professionally put together by using a variety of well designed collections, from reputable manufacturers, that allow us to mix, match and respect your budget.I’m there Thursday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. This store is definitely worth a visit, even if it’s just to gawk at their beautiful arrangements, so come on down to see me there soon!
